Cryptographic identity

Stay privately connected. No phone number

KBeam does not require a phone number, email address or real name for registration and ordinary private communication. A cryptographic identity becomes your contact point without turning your real life into an account form.

Romy and her friend Liv stay connected without a phone number, email address or real name as an account anchor.

01

Identity from keys instead of account data

Many messengers begin with a mobile number or a central user account. KBeam uses a cryptographic identity instead. It provides a technical anchor for contacts, encryption and signatures without requiring a phone number or email address as a conventional identity anchor.

This does not mean that no technical data exists. The app processes local content and settings, while transport services need technical metadata for delivery, reliability and abuse prevention. The difference is that your real name, email and phone number are not prerequisites for ordinary private messaging.

02

Connect with people deliberately

Contacts connect through their KBeam identity and an intentional contact request. You decide who receives your contact route. KBeam does not need to make your personal address book the foundation of your identity.

Private messages are encrypted on the device before they reach the transport path. Ordinary text messages, voice messages, photos and videos do not require you to maintain a KAS balance.

03

Wallet V2: identity is intended to become changeable

For Wallet V2, KBeam is developing a stronger separation between contact identity and payment compartments. The plan is to renew a communication identity selectively and share the new mapping only with chosen contacts through encrypted messages.

This rotation is a roadmap feature, not a promise about the currently released version. The website therefore always marks it clearly as in development.

FAQ

Questions about a messenger without a phone number

Do I need a SIM card for KBeam?

KBeam does not require a SIM card or phone number for registration. The device only needs suitable internet access to send and receive messages through the selected transport path.

Does that make me completely anonymous?

KBeam avoids conventional identity data as a registration requirement. Complete anonymity would still be too absolute a promise: devices, networks, public blockchain data and technical metadata may create additional information depending on how you use the app.

Do I have to buy KAS first?

No. Core messenger features such as text, voice messages, photos and videos do not require a KAS balance. KAS is optional for payments and selected Kaspa functions.
